March: Momentum, Mission, and Mindset
Hello, March!
February felt expansive.
I spent Valentine’s Day in Brazil during Carnival, immersed in color, culture, and celebration. My boyfriend surprised me with flowers and a candlelit dinner that felt straight out of a movie. I’m so grateful that God placed this kind of love in my life.
And if you’re thinking about visiting Brazil, I highly recommend it. Great food, everyone is really nice, but just make sure you come prepared for the heat. It was over 100 degrees almost every day during our stay.
Back in Los Angeles, I officially began production on my next documentary. It centers on the life of a young girl whose story captured headlines, but whose humanity was never fully honored. I am approaching this film with intention. It is about truth, accountability, and raising awareness for child abuse.
Phase One has involved research, archival gathering, and conversations with family members. Phase Two will include in-depth interviews with those directly connected to the story. These are not easy conversations. They require sensitivity, trust, and patience. But I believe storytelling, when done responsibly, can shift narratives and demand better systems.
I also attended the NAACP Hollywood Bureau Symposium, which reinforced my belief that ownership and control of our stories matter. Being in rooms where Black executives and creators are shaping culture reminded me that this work is bigger than one film.
On the wellness front, I tried two new classes at Equinox, Body Sculpt and Barefoot Sculpt, and I loved both. I’m still a Pilates lover, but it was nice to switch it up and try something new!
Now let’s shift gears into my March goals! ⬇️
March Personal Goals
📌 Phase 2 of my latest documentary
Phase 2 means sitting down with the people directly connected to this story. Listening. Asking thoughtful questions. Creating space for emotions that are still very real.
I have produced sports, live shows, digital series. But this is different. This requires patience. Preparation. Sensitivity. It requires me to show up as a producer, but also as a woman who understands how important it is for stories like this to be handled with dignity.
I want to walk into every interview fully prepared. Fully present. I can’t wait to share more about the story and what I’m working on!
📌 Be more heads down
February was beautiful and expansive. March is about focus.
I am intentionally reducing noise and increasing discipline. Less scrolling. More building. More refining. More creating. There is a season for being outside and there is a season for being locked in. This month, I am choosing to be locked in.
📌 Finish reading the “Year of Yes” by Shonda Rhimes
Finishing it is less about checking a box and more about internalizing the mindset. I am also a huge fan of Shonda Rhimes’ work, so reading her perspective on courage and ownership feels aligned with where I am right now.
I am in a season of expansion. Saying yes to growth. Yes to responsibility. Yes to bigger rooms.
📖 Faith to Fuel the Journey
Verses that are guiding me in this season:
✨ Jeremiah 29:11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
✨ Hebrews 11:1 – “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
✨ Romans 8:28 – “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
