June: Rested, Refueled, Ready
Hello, June!
After Japan, May was all about slowing down.
I came home from two weeks away and finally rested. I had not stopped in a long time, and my body felt it the second I did.
I stayed consistent with the gym, which felt good after living out of a suitcase. I started cooking again too, even made brownies from scratch. They did not last long….So GOOOD!
My boyfriend and I also had a movie date to see Obsession, and it was so good. The acting pulled me in, but what really stuck with me was the director. Curry Barker built his whole career on YouTube, making horror shorts on tiny budgets before this became one of the biggest horror hits of the year. There is something inspiring about someone making it on their own terms like that.
Japan, though. I’m still not over it. A few favorites that have stayed with me.
Favorite Hotel — The Ritz-Carlton Tokyo
The hotel takes up the top floors of Midtown Tower in Roppongi, more than 200 meters up. I woke up to the Tokyo skyline every morning, Mt. Fuji in the distance on a clear day. Even though my birthday had already passed, the staff surprised me with desserts to celebrate. The room service was just as good. I felt taken care of the entire stay. I did not want to leave.
Favorite Restaurant — Chao Chao in Kyoto
I found it on TikTok and had to see if it was worth the hype. It was! A tiny place in an alley near Sanjo, line out the door every night. Crispy, juicy gyoza in flavors I had never seen, pork, shrimp, even chocolate for dessert. We went twice. That should tell you everything. If you make it to Kyoto, wait in the line. Trust me!
Favorite Activity — Shopping in Harajuku
I found the cutest vintage Chanel wallet and have not put it down since. Harajuku is heaven for vintage. This was the best thing I brought home.
📖 Faith to Fuel the Journey
Verses that are guiding me in this season:
✨ Psalm 23:2-3 – “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul.”
✨ Colossians 3:23 – “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.”
✨ Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
